Oru Naal Koothu – Review
Oru Naal Koothu is a movie about women and the difficulties they face as a bride. Nelson SVM has directed the movie which is his debut movie. J Selvakumar is producing this movie under his production banner Kenanya Films. Cinematography is done by Gokul and music by Justin Prabakaran. Dinesh, Mia George, Nivetha Pethuraj and Riythvika in the lead roles. The cast also includes Karunakaran, Bala Saravanan, Ramesh Tilak and Charle.
The film has brought out the struggle and difficulties that a normal woman faces to get into wedlock, with three different characters. The movie starts with four different story lines and finally everything meets at one point, this shows the calibre of the director. Though he has taken a very usual subject, the way he has conveyed it differs and makes the movie interesting.
The director has given equal importance to all characters that no one can be specified as a hero. Dinesh looks different with a formal look, and his acting is very less expressive, the must have utilized him more. Ramesh Thilak has given a notable performance. All female actresses have done their roles perfectly. Riythvika’s expressive eyes and cute reactions get registered. Nivetha has given an awesome performance which makes the viewers to long for such a girlfriend. Also Mia George perfectly suits the role of an innocent girl. Also the rest of the cast has done a good job.
The cinematography by Gokul has supported the movie well. Also the editor V J Sabu Joseph has done a great job in making the movie tireless. But more concentration is needed in some scenes. Music by Justin Prabakaran supports the movie well, especially ‘adiye azhage’ as got added up in most playlists. But the art direction must have done more cautiously, as the movie travels in three different time periods. Even though all have done well, the actor seems to be less emotive to the situation. Also here and there some logical lapse and some irrelevant twists in the story are the snags.
‘Oru Naal Koothu’ even if it’s a usual subject, most of the people could relate to it which makes it a success.
