Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai Movie Review
In recent days many Malayalam movies are remade to Tamil, Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai Movie is another addition to the list. It is a remake of ‘Thattathin Marayathu’ which was released in 2012. This was a blockbuster hit and was a breakthrough for many. Did Meendum oru Kadhal Kadhai recreate the magic? Ishaa Talwar, the female lead in Thattathin Marayathu and the debutant Walter Philips has done the lead roles of this movie, the cast also includes Arjunan, Nassar, Thalaivasal Vijay, Manoj K Jayan and Sangili Murugan. Mithran Jawahar has directed and Sangili Murugan has produced the movie under the banner Block Ticket Films.
As the title this movie is again a love story between couple who belong to different religion. Vinod a hindu falls in love with a muslim girl Aisha, the girl then gradually starts loving him. What are the conflicts this couple faces and how they overcome all this and unite, is the entire movie about. Walter Philips has given a very decent performance as a debutant, but he couldn’t match up Nivin Pauly’s performance in the original. Isha Talwar has done her part well. Arjunan as Walter’s friend has done good comedy, the scenes involving both has come out well. The veteran actors Nassar and Thalaivasal Vijay appear only for few scenes but within that space they have delivered fine performance.
The cinematography of Vishnu Sharma is a great plus to the movie, each frame looks fresh and beautiful. Since it’s a musical love story there are many songs. In G V Prakash’s music the songs sounds good, but are not up to the mark. The BGM of the movie has worked well. Mithran Jawahar famous for remake movies has done this remake also. It’s a feel good love story, but it seems that the director has reproduced the original Malayalam Movie frame by frame. It would have been better if matters like communism were removed and some factors influencing Tamilians were added instead. Surely this will be a good entertainer film for those who haven’t watched the original.
