Rekka – Review
Rekka Movie Review
Rekka Movie is the sixth release for Vijay Sethupathi this year, and it was said that this movie will be a pure mass entertainer. A commercial film from a raw actor Vijay Sethupathi, Let’s see how this work.
Vijay Sethupathi is an advocate, who also supports and rescues women who are victims of forced marriage. In such situation he happens to kidnap the daughter of a tough politician. This develops a rival between him and the villain. How the hero tackled this and what is the cause behind his service to lovers is all revealed in the latter half of the movie.
Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi’s first action entertainer attempt is Rekka, where he manages to project him as a mass action hero. Though he has less scope to perform, he scores in every chance he gets. Lakshmi Menon depicts a usual loosu girl role in the movie. Harish Uthaman as Villain has done an amazing job, Kishore and Kabir Duha’s acting is also flawless. Unfortunately Sathish’s work for comedy doesn’t work on the film. K S Ravikumar and Sriranjani as Vijay Sethupathi’s parents have done their part well.
Imman’s music is good but fails to create any impact where Kanna Kaattu Podhum is an exception, the background score in his music is blaring in places. Dinesh Krishnan’s cinematography has added value to the film. Praveen K L’s editing works are good enough. The screenplay of Rathna Shiva is quite confusing as it has many subplots for both villains and the lead pair. The action sequences in the movie are impressive but are too long. In certain extend its trying, as most stunt scenes are depicted larger than life. The movie follows the regular template of commercial films, but it manages to engage the audience. Watch the movie to experience a different form of Vijay Sethupathi.
