Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum is the debut movie for the famous tele-serial director Premsai. But he has done a very decent movie as an experienced director. Gautham Menon has produced the movie also Singer Karthick has turned music director in this movie. The movie stars Jai, Yami Gautam, Santhanam, VTV Ganesh, Nassar along with a big list of stars.
The hero Jai comes to Chennai in search of a job. He meets Yami working in a shop, while he delivers courier to the shop instead of his friend Santhanam and eventually falls in love with her. And he decides to join the same courier company, so that he can meet his love often by delivering the couriers. In his job Jai happens to deliver a courier that exposes the crime network that illegally extracts stem cells from pregnant ladies. Knowing this the criminal gang behind this is chasing Jai to stop him delivering the courier thus his life goes under risk. Did Jai managed them and delivered the courier or not is the rest movie about.
Jai has again proved himself as a hero material, he has worked well in dance, comedy and action. Yami Gautam looks beautiful on screen and has done her part well but it seems she has been used only to add beauty. The scenes involving Santhanam and VTV Ganesh has brought out got comedy. Nassar as anti-corruption crusader has delivered his usual excellence in performance. Sathya Ponmar cinematography is a great plus, especially the high speed shots shows his caliber. Editor Praveen Antony has done a good job but some chasing scenes lags continuity. The songs in Karthick’s music are soothing and the BGM of Sandeep Chowta helps the audience to connect to the movie.
With a story line resembling Hollywood movies the director has brilliantly added elements needed for a Kollywood screenplay. The chasing scenes are impressive and evident the intelligence of the director. But the hero has no big threat, so the movie gets a predictable flow. Though some love scenes are good, most tests our temper. The way the mafia is established and explained are clear. If the content of the courier is revealed near climax the movies would have been more thrilling.
On the whole Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum is a good attempt with a very new subject of stem cell mafia.
